Multiple Choice Scoring

Overview

The Multiple Choice Scoring feature automatically evaluates student responses to multiple-choice questions based on predefined correct answers. This enables fast, accurate, and consistent grading without manual intervention.

Who Can Use This Feature

  • Administrators

  • Teachers

  • Authorized Support Staff

How Multiple Choice Scoring Works

  • Each multiple-choice question has one or more correct answers defined during test creation.

  • Student responses are automatically compared to the correct answers.

  • Scores are calculated instantly upon test submission.

Viewing Multiple Choice Scores

  1. Log in using an Administrator or Teacher account.

  2. Navigate to myDeskMate - Manage Online Test

  3. Select the relevant class and test and click View/Score Test.

  4. View individual or class-level results for multiple-choice questions.

What Is Included in Multiple Choice Scoring

  • Automatic marking of correct and incorrect answers

  • Instant score calculation

  • Inclusion of scores in the student’s total test result

  • Question-level performance visibility (where enabled)

Important Notes

  • Multiple-choice questions do not require manual grading.

  • Scores are updated immediately after the student submits the test.

  • If a test includes both multiple-choice and written response questions, the final score is completed only after written responses are graded.

Common Issues and Resolutions

Scores Not Displaying

  • Ensure the student has submitted the test.

  • Verify that the test is published and assigned correctly.

Incorrect Scoring

  • Check that the correct answer was properly configured in the test settings.

  • Confirm that scoring rules (single vs. multiple correct answers) are set correctly.

Best Practices

  • Review correct answers before publishing a test.

  • Use clear and unambiguous answer options.

  • Test the assessment using a sample student account when possible.
